Bedside Cot Reviews
A bedside crib, sometimes referred to as a bassinet for babies, is placed near your bed so you can be able to attend to your infant during night feeds and nappy-changings, without needing to leave the bed. These cribs are great to help develop independence in your child as they get more comfortable in their own bed.
The Joie Roomie Glide
The Joie Roomie Glide crib is an ideal bedside crib that allows parents to sleep with their infant while ensuring that they are safe to sleep. The smooth glide motion helps to soothe your baby to sleep. Its innovative features let you monitor them without leaving your own bed.
The cot's slide-away side panel can be raised and lowered with the push of the button, making it simple to reach in and soothe a crying baby in the night. It also has 11 height adjustments that let it fit the mattress of almost any size bed and it comes with adjustable feet that fold down to ensure it sits at just the right height.
In terms of safety the cot is padded and fitted with mesh sides for increased ventilation, while its mattress is made of high-density foam for extra protection. It's also able to be cleaned to keep it clean. It also is fitted with a sheet that is suitable for use with the cot.
Contrary to other cribs that are bedside like the Roomie Glide is suitable for all beds, including divans thanks to its straps and clip attachment. It can also be used as a stand-alone crib when it's not connected to the bed. It's packed with amazing features that are specifically designed with the bonding between parents and babies in mind.

The most important thing to keep in mind is that although this crib is ideal for babies, it won't last long once your baby turns six months old, so you will need to invest in a bigger cot. Overall, Roanna thought that the Joie Roomie Glide crib was an excellent purchase. She was impressed by its sleek design.
John Lewis sells the Roomie Glide for PS160. Roanna thought this was a reasonable price for such an item. She also liked how it looked in the bedroom and thought that the grey shade is a good fit for modern homes. However, she pointed out that it isn't a great idea to rock a young baby because it can set the stage for bad habits that will affect later sleep patterns.
The Tutti Bambini CoZee

It has a drop side rail that is easily lowered to feed your baby at night without having to disturb your little one or get out of bed It's perfect for mothers who are breastfeeding! It's also lightweight, making it easy to move around the house during naps and for travelling.
We love that it's made from soft materials with mesh sides that are breathable, which promote airflow and comfort. It's available in charcoal and oak and comes with a variety of melange fabric options that blend well with most decor styles. Anna found it solid and secure when it was attached to her bed, with the legs firmly snapping into the frame and the zips securely secured for baby-safety. It took her about 10 minutes to assemble and didn't require any tools, with clear instructions and a video or customer support number if you have any problems.
In addition to the standard features you'd expect from a crib that is bedside that include the ability to attach to your bed using a stay-in-place connection system and six height levels, the CoZee has an additional incline option which can be used to help ease reflux or congestion in infants. It can also be washed by a machine - a must for all the dribbles, vomit, and snot that accompany a new baby!
If you're looking to keep your baby close during the first six months as they're able to go to sleep on their own The CoZee is a fantastic option because it can be used as a standalone cot, changing table and toddler bed. It can even be converted into a sofa bed with the addition of an extension pack. While it will not feed your baby or magically put them to sleep, it will rock them and send them off!
The Chicco Next2Me Magic
This is one of the more expensive alternatives. It does have a lot of amazing features. It can be used as either a side-sleeper or as a standalone crib that is suitable for infants ranging from birth to six months. It has a new mechanism to open and close the side panel and is easy to operate even with one hand. It's also more flexible than its predecessor with 11 different height levels and feet that retract to installation under any bed.
Our testers appreciated the ease of use offered by the side panel which can be moved upwards and downwards with just one click of a switch. This was an enormous help in feedings at night as it meant that they could easily reach in and pick up their baby without waking them up.
bedside crib vs cot can be lifted by itself, too, but it's not recommended since it increases the risk of your baby falling out of the cot. The patented safety locking system guarantees that the side panel will remain in place when it is properly attached to the mattress of the parent. This feature is great to have peace of mind when you're breastfeeding and require frequent night feeds.
The Chicco Next2Me Magic is designed to work with any bed that is divan-based as well as beds with drawers thanks to the legs that can be telescopic. It has a tilting feature to help reflux babies, and a rocking function to help soothe them to sleep after a feeding. It's also very spacious and offers great ventilation due to its mesh sides.
Our test participants found the Next2Me Magic easy to set up and use, however it does come with a long instruction manual. It is a little heavier than other side-sleepers however, it is easily moved from one room to another. It's also small enough to fit in a travel bag when not in use, which is a plus when you have to transport it. The only drawback our testers noticed was that the side panel did not flex as much as some of the other models, making it a little harder to observe your child from your bed.
The Shnuggle Air
If you're in search of a bedside crib that will develop with your child, then the Shnuggle Air is definitely worth looking into. It's a crib for co-sleeping that can be attached securely to your bed and can be transformed into a chic cot when your baby is old enough. Perfect for nighttime feedings and strengthening the bond between you and your new born.
The Shnuggle Air crib is designed to breathe, unlike some other models. The mesh side panels with dual-view as well as the airflow mattress that is hypoallergenic and breathable maximize airflow and keep your baby cool and comfortable. A gentle incline helps to ease reflux and colic, while the zip down side makes it easy to feed or soothe your baby during the night.
The kit for converting cots is also well designed, with clear instructions. It includes everything you need. It took us about an hour to put together and was fairly straightforward. The only issue was the absence of written captions on a few of the images which made it difficult to understand some of the steps. Overall, the procedure was easy and the materials used were of top quality.
In the co-sleeping position, we found the Shnuggle Air to be an excellent option for breastfeeding mothers and women who have had a c-section as it allows them to easily reach out to their baby to feed and comfort them without having to climb out of their bed. It's also great for mothers who wish to avoid the difficulty of getting in and out of a traditional cot or placing their baby down to sleep.
The motion of gliding was found to be extremely helpful in lulling babies to sleep after feedings at night or midday. The drop-down side is also easily accessed to feed or soothe babies in the middle of the night and was a major selling point for our exhausted test mums. The Joie Roomie Glide is a modern and stylish crib that doesn't rock, nor does it come with extra features like an audio system.
